About Me

My photo
New York, NY, United States
Once upon a time there was this grave, blond girl living at the coast of Norway. She was so bored with her life, that she decided to start over and travel across the sea. She ended up in New York City, the city of opportunities. Here she will hope to find Life, before she returns to Norway. You can follow her search in this blog.

If you live in New York, even if you're Catholic, you're Jewish

Today was also a quiet day, but it was kinda pleasant.

Many museums have free enter at different days, and today The Jewish Museum was open. It wasn't as large as the others I have been to, but it was very interesting and well done, showing both the light and dark sides of jewish history and culture. My favorite exhibition was a about the famous magician Houdini, who, in addition to being jewish, also was born Hungarian. I have heard a lot about Houdini before, but it has never come to my knowing that he was born in Budapest.

Harry Houdini was most famous for getting himself out of locked situations in the most mysteriously and magnificent ways:

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to take pictures - inside.

After I had finished my round at the museum, I went home to have lunch. There I got the offer to come with two other Norwegian girls to dinner later in the evening. They were going to the amazing thai-reataurant Spice, so I had to say yes. The food was as perfect as always, but we didn't get a table upstairs, where the view over the restaurant is just fantastic. I tried takeing some pictures, but since it was quite dark, the quality isn't too good:
