New York, NY, United States
Once upon a time there was this grave, blond girl living at the coast of Norway. She was so bored with her life, that she decided to start over and travel across the sea. She ended up in New York City, the city of opportunities. Here she will hope to find Life, before she returns to Norway. You can follow her search in this blog.

New York is Babylon : Brooklyn is the truly Holy City

My friends at The Markle were shocked to hear that I had not jet been outside of Manhattan, so today some of them dragged me to Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Williamsburg is a small and supercozy part of Brooklyn, where you find the best vintage and second-hand stores and the cutest cafes.

Brooklyn (Williamsburg) was quite different from Manhattan. The buildings were almost smaller than back home in Ålesund, and the standard of the houses and the stores we walked by variated within a large scale. You could see anything from the prettiest, decorative old brick-houses to the most tattered and shabby buildings, and all in one street.
Still, I did like Williamsburg a lot. I could actually picture myself living there, since it was so close to Manhattan and Greenwich Village (only three Subway-stops away), as well as being much cheaper (and more quiet) than living in Manhattan.

Another big difference where the feel of the city. In Manhattan, everyone is always in a hurry and the streets are often packed with people. Here, the streets were just half-full and people walked calmly around looking into stores or just enjoying the sunny day. It was a perfect, quiet Sunday-trip.
