About Me

My photo
New York, NY, United States
Once upon a time there was this grave, blond girl living at the coast of Norway. She was so bored with her life, that she decided to start over and travel across the sea. She ended up in New York City, the city of opportunities. Here she will hope to find Life, before she returns to Norway. You can follow her search in this blog.

Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school

Since it's under one week left to the Norwegians Midterm-exams, all we do is study, study, study. Last night we stayed up the whole night at the Markle library, just reading, discussing, laughing, eating and drinking caffeine. Still, we have a lot more studying to do, so I might not be too eager on the blogging. Lucikly, in one week it will all be over - for now. We'll just have to hang in there.

And, hey, I got my third visit from Norway today. The lovely Caroline from my hometown will be sleeping over in my room tonight. Tomorrow she goes to stay at an hotel in Long Island. She will be in the city for 5 days, and then she'll head down to sunny California. Lucky her. I hope to show her some great sights and wonderful places during her stay here.

I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York's skyline

I'm back again. Just dropped of my friends in a yellow cab going to Newark, so now it's time to start blogging again.

This week have been very busy but also a lot of fun. I'm gonna spare you the boring (read: juicy) details, and give you a short summary in photos.

First we went shopping:
Soho/Greenwich Village

Macy's:

 Then we went sightseeing:
Cruise around Manhattan:

Uptown bus-tour:

Downtown bus-tour:

Gay memorial:

Tiles of America:

9/11 Tribute Center:

Strawberry Fields:

I also sent my friends to some of the most important museums, but since I've been to most of them, I rather spent the time studying.

In between all the shopping and sightseeing, we went eating:
Bruchetteria:

 Savoy:

Alice's Tea Cup:

Spice:

Magnolia Bakery:

Max Brenner:

And at the end of the day, we went out to experience NY for all it's worth:
Cafe Wha:

HA! Comedy Club:

Rain, "The Beatles" Musical:

The week passed by so extremely quickly, so we only managed to do half of the things we planned to to. Time sure flies by here in New York, and I think both of my friends were longing to come back soon. I myself am starting to miss the city already, and am NOT looking forward to go back to Valderøya. Luckily, I got still more time in this wonderful place, and I will (try to) enjoy every minute of it.

I'm wishing them both a pleasant and not too heart-broken trip back to Norway.
