Once upon a time there was this grave, blond girl living at the coast of Norway. She was so bored with her life, that she decided to start over and travel across the sea. She ended up in New York City, the city of opportunities. Here she will hope to find Life, before she returns to Norway. You can follow her search in this blog.

The greatest gift of the garden is the restoration of the five senses

This Sunday the weather was great, so Dina, Helene and I decided to take a visit to Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

Going to Brooklyn always feels like going to a entire different city. The houses are small and short, and the pulse of the city is completely contrastive to the stressed tempo of Manhattan. The streets aren't filled with busy people, and the traffic is not in complete anarchy.

However, this experience was a bit different. Entering the botanical garden was really like entering The Garden of Eden. Everything was so peaceful, so colorful and so incredibly beautiful. My thought went to my mother and grandmother, who both share a love for plants and gardening. How amazing it would have been for them to experience such a diverse and stunningly perfect garden. Unfortunately, I can only give them the next best thing to see it for themselves:

We walked around in the garden until it closed. Then we headed back to Manhattan and went to The Norwegian Seamen's Church, where we were served popcorn,  accompanied by a quality American movie, on the roof of the building.
It was a perfect Sunday.
